Kevin Detwiler
DVM
Dr. Detwiler is the owner and sole veterinarian at Mission Valley Vet Clinic. He graduated from Oregon State University with a BS with honors in Microbiology, and then from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, WA in 1982. Aside from a 5-year stint in Omak, WA in the early 1990’s, Dr. Detwiler has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Mission Valley for 40 years.
This valley and mixed practice vet clinic has provided him with a varied case load which Dr. Detwiler really enjoys. He loves doing cattle herd health and OB work, as well as generalized and orthopedic small animal surgery. Dr. Detwiler’s many years of experience and vast skill set allow us to diagnose and treat numerous conditions in a variety of animals.
Kevin and Debbie have raised 5 amazing children and currently have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 tree frog and a horse. They have always had a variety of animals in their home, including multiple fresh and saltwater aquariums of fish.

Debbie Detwiler
Admin & Clinic Mom/Grandma
Debbie and Kevin have been married for over 40 years and Debbie plays a big role in the inner workings of our vet clinic. We call her the clinic mom because she takes such great care of all of us. Debbie loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as hiking, gardening, and doing anything outdoors. She also has microbiology and medical technology degrees and enjoys all the science involved in veterinary medicine.

Skyla Lewis
Vet Assistant
My name really is Skyla – not Skylar or Carla. I am originally from Arlee and have been working at Mission Valley Vet Clinic since 2022. I started as a kennel tech, but now I do a bit of everything. In my free time, I like to herd hound dogs and ride horses.

Marie
She is everyone's favorite cat. Marie came to us in 2019 and quickly adjusted to her new life as a clinic cat.

Flynn
He is the newest cat addition and has turned into a really great front desk ornament.

Walter
He bites, quite hard - fair warning. Walter showed up in 2018 and refused to leave. We have learned to love him, most of the time.

Pollo
He is the real boss; Pollo is one of the toughest dogs we know. He belongs to Kevin and Debbie and is a clinic staff favorite.

Marco (Lab) & Remi (Brindle)
Marco and Remi both grew up coming to the clinic; it is their home away from home. Marco lives with Kevin and Debbie, and Remi belongs to Nicole (or Nicole belongs to Remi). Marco is the sweetest boy, but do not hand him a treat (if you want to keep your fingers!). Remi is also sweet, but would prefer if he and Marco were the only dogs around.

Lieutenant Dan
He is the newest K9 addition and we are all so impressed! He has adapted to life at the clinic and life with Marco & Pollo so quickly and easily. He is a good boy!
